In 1918 Michael Pierce and Bessie Butler came to Papatoetoe from Morrinsville to look for a place to live. They returned to Morrinsville with this photograph and decided to buy. They moved here in 1918.
Percy Butler was born on Auckland's North Shore in (1897?. In 1906 he married Bessie Turnbull who was born in Morrinsville in 1877.
