Kohukohu Kauri Walk 2005 Print E-mail
ImageIn 1820 the Dromedary tried to enter the Hokianga seeking kauri spars for the Royal Navy. It failed to cross the bar, but Prince Regent, the little schooner accompanying it did enter the harbour. Soon Kohukohu was a thriving mill town as the kauri was exploited.
