Requiem for Ukelele
Wally is an actor, playwright and installation artist.

He has a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Drama from Auckland University, and has been involved in Playback theatre for many years.

He has also been a volunteer for the Kohukohu Ambulance Service, and this had an influence on his work in the 2010 Village Arts Ukelelle exhibition. The body bag with its label attached pronounces that the music is dead, killed by the conflict of war. The bullet holes in the ukelele contrast with the fingers reaching out for life and music.

Wally has been one of the key people staffing the Village Arts Gallery in Kohukohu, but he is also an artist in his own right.
