A safe city would have no planners.

Professor of Planning Dory Reeves raises an important issue. If 61% of women are afraid of the dark it would not be expensive to buy them all a torch. In contrast almost everyone has every reason to be afraid of planners, both men and women. They built Manukau City under the flight path of the airport. They are developing the Wynyard Quarter in a location which would be completely obliterated by a modest tsunami or earthquake. There is no evidence that planners have the least concern for safety. A truly liveable city would be one which had no planners. As Winston Churchill said “Plans are of little importance, but planning is essential”.
