ImageFiring the surface of the stone melted it into a translucent glaze. These building blocks were then assembled into a mural to lead into the entry of the Government Life building at 99 Queen Street, Auckland.

In the classic manner in which architects destroy heritage new, insensitive architects destroyed the mural without even bothering to record their sacrilege. Care of the built environment should never be entrusted to ego-driven architects who are concerned about nothing beyond their own self-aggrandisement.
