David Spero: Settlements |
From 2002 to 2005 British photographer David Spero explored the relationship between architectural structures and ideological beliefs.
He focused on those which are self-built by communities wanting to live on the land in a sustainable way. Their aim is to minimise their ecological footprint. The structures are hardly visible, camoflaged in the rich and dense foliage which surrounds them. An exhibtion of David Spero's photographs was held at the Photographers' Gallery. 5 Great Newport Street, London, from 2 December 2005 to 5 February 2006.
