The old mediaeval village had been derelict and deserted for many years. Then Giancarlo di Carlo brought it back to life as the most high-tech village in Europe.
The road which runs north from Lake Loise to Jasper, in the Canadian Rockies, is one of the most spectacular in the world.
Life is the story of astonishing coincidences. I happened to be driving around the ring road in Vienna when I saw a building almost completely covered by a timber facade. "Scarpa" was the sign on the new facade.
The Querini-Stampaia Foundation is very close to St Marks and not too difficult to find,
The outside is rather dull and unimpossing.Within is a wonderland.
